Background

The Eswatini Wellness Centre for Health Care Workers is a non-profit making organisation providing health care services to Health Care workers and their immediate family members in both private and public sector. It was founded by the Swaziland Nurses Association in Collaboration with the International Council of Nurses and the Stephen Lewis foundation in 2004.
The Centre was registered with the Ministry of Health as a private clinic in 2006 the same year it officially started operations. The Centre is currently providing services through three forms; Which are Static, Outreach and Homebased Care.

The Centre is based in Manzini offering a range of quality and confidential health care services responsive to the needs of health care workers and their families. These include; healthy life-style education and support, psychological care and support (grief healing and stress management), counselling for HIV prevention and behaviour change, HIV treatment and care services ( PEP, PREP, PMTCT, HTS and ART. This centre has been pointed to as a model for good practice by many global organizations, including the World Health Organization and Physicians for Human Rights.

The Wellness Centre intends to strengthen the Health care delivery system in Eswatini and receives financial and technical support from the Ministry of Health, (ICN), the Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) and WHO.
